Evolution Fight Academy

I have EVOLVED from traditional martial arts starting with 6 years of Shotokan Karate earning my black belt with J.K.A Karate in New York in the late 80′s. Moving to New Jersey, the east coast hot bed for M.M.A., I transitioned to full contact Olympic Tae Kwon Do

(T.K.D) earning my black belt and competing and winning regional and national tournaments. In the off season I started training in B.J.J. with some of today’s top M.M.A. stars and competing in N.A.G.A. (North American Grappling Association) tournaments. After winning major titles in T.K.D., I decided it was time to switch sports and went to train full time in B.J.J. at P.K.A. under the Muchado brothers and earned my blue belt. I competed in several more N.A.G.A. tournaments before injuring my back. During that time, I took time off to heal, I started training in M.M.A. with top amateur and pro fighters at Pitts Penn (now Jersey Shore M.M.A.). Battling my back injury, I did what I could to help their fighters compete in grappling tournaments and M.M.A. fights.

I moved to High Point N.C. in November 2007 and researched M.M.A. schools in the area and found Cage One Martial Arts was the only true M.M.A. school. C.O.M.A. was not using the more popular T.K.D., Karate, Kickboxing or B.J.J. to pay the bills. I started training there and soon became an instructor and helped Matt Poling, one of the area’s best wrestlers, win his first 3 M.M.A. fight’s and become the Mid Atlantic Welterweight champion and helped John Haff a very talented striker become a well rounded M.M.A. fighter. During that time I underwent my long awaited back surgery and C.O.M.A. closed.

Through devoted athletes, training partners and some contacts I made along the way as well as not finding a true M.M.A. school I decided to open Evolution Fight Academy. Bringing my experience as well as some of the talented people I have met to the school, to train students to become athletes and athletes to become fighters.
